As most of you know, we have a social butterfly on our hands. This means that when it is naptime, she doesn’t go down easily. However, when she does go to sleep, she falls hard. Here’s a prime example. She wants to be near her parents, but is just too sleepy.

Jake and I celebrated our four year anniversary this past Wednesday. As I was reflecting throughout the day, here are some of the things I came up with.

We’ve gotten a puppy, both lost our jobs & gotten new ones, I’ve quit a job, we’ve moved four times, had a baby, almost bought a house, been to two funerals (forgive me if I’m forgetting someone), been in a wedding, celebrated nine birthdays and bought two cars in our four years of marriage. Whew!

So to the best beau God could have ever picked for me, I’ve cherished every bump along the way and look forward to many more bumps on our road named Life’s Journey.

Silly Sleeper Part 1

Little Miss has begun to find herself in the oddest positions for sleeping. You know, the ones that you look at your children and think, “My neck would be killing me if I slept like that!”
I’m excited to see how else she begins to sleep. This could be a wild ride!

Sunny Day

Little Miss and I spent an hour and a half in the sunshine yesterday. It is so beautiful out! I challenge you to go outdoors and get some fresh air this weekend.

Bones

Playing dominoes runs in the family. My dad, brother, sister and I all play and LOVE it. Jake’s family plays Mexican Train. This past weekend, we all sat down for a quick game of Mexican Train and someone was a little upset she didn’t have her own dominoes to play with.

Olivia’s Special Day!

On Sunday, April 3, 2011, Jake and I declared in front of our church, Sandals Church, that we would raise Olivia in the light of the LORD. For those of you who grew up Catholic like me, this is our church’s version of a “baby baptism.” We believe that the decision to be baptized should be Olivia’s choice, but in the meantime, this is an official declaration and commitment from us as a family as well as from our church family.

It doesn’t stop there. We are to be teaching her God’s word and being in constant conversation with her about what it means to be a follower of Jesus. We pray that she believes that and applies these teachings to every aspect of her life. It was a very momentous occasion for our little one whether she knows it yet or not.

We asked our family and dear friends to join us in this commitment and then for a little dinner afterward. We are so thankful for those who surround us with love and support! Below are a few photos that we managed to catch of this day.

A Ruwe Reunion

On the first, we went to Lorrie’s to see not only her, but Jake’s Uncle Mike & Aunt Stacey who live in Lake Tahoe. Lorrie lives in Upland and although she’s closer, this was the first time that Jim’s siblings got to meet Olivia. It was long overdue and a fabulous time!
