Happy Birthday Andrew!

This past year was quite a fruitful year. There are six couples in our small group and all of us were and still are pregnant. That yielded a lot of babies!

Of them, our first from last year, Andrew, just celebrated his first birthday. We were happy to celebrate with him and you’ll see the slideshow proves it.

There was a Musical Munchkins show, if you will that allowed everyone to engage in singing, dancing and playing music. Our musical munchkin who normally is bouncing and tapping to the beat wasn’t so sure about this one, but we did get a few bangs on the drum. I will say that since then she’s been drumming, singing and dancing quite a bit (video to come).

It’s a mighty fine life!

Who’s Leslie?

I just heard a song playing that took me back to middle school. I was riding with a friend and my mom on the way to work. We’re singing at the top of our lungs to the oldies playing on the radio. The song: Groovin’ by the Young Rascals.

The line that brings back the memory: Life would be ecstasy, you and me and Leslie. So I quickly ask my mom, “who’s Leslie?’ To which she chuckles. “What’s so funny?”

“It’s enlessly, NOT Leslie.” Both my friend and I let out a loud. “Oh!” Suddenly the song made sense.

Life would be ecstasy, you and me endlessly.

We laughed, the three of us, at what nonsense it was thinking that there was another woman named Leslie.

A free bouquet

Thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Evan & Amanda Enright and their beautiful wedding, I was able to get a beautiful bouquet of  daffodils for my kitchen table.

I like to have fresh flowers on my table, but money doesn’t always allow. A small blessing in disguise.

The Bucket List

So I’ve been thinking that I should make a list of goals or things I’d like to acheieve in my life. My bucket list. Granted it’s starting off small simply because I’m drawing a blank, but it’ll get longer as we progress.

I just adore these two!

I was able to see them at the company Christmas party. It just wasn’t enough time. They’re so loving and kind. They bring smiles to my face every single time I see them.

Bekky and Mark

Bekky was a schoolmate of mine. We’d drive from good ol’ Inland Empire to Costa Mesa together. She and I have been through a lot together: laughs, tears, frustrations.

Well, Bekky got married. I remember her saying she was getting married in four months all throughout school (3 years). Well her four months came to an end and she met her Mark Dreamy.

Boredom

 

So we were at the Cowper wedding and a table full of friends lead to lots of giggles and a bit of alcohol. I’ve decided that I need to compose a travel game that you can play while you’re waiting for the bride, groom, bridal party and family to get done taking photos. I’m gonna patent it and make millions…maybe not. In the meantime the photo above shows what our game for the night was.

It feels so good to be back in Riverside. We can visit longer. There’s no hurry to get home because there’s no commute. It is so welcoming to see that Riverside really is meant to be our home.

She’s Lost Five Pounds!

I just have to say how proud I am of Kristen. She’s decided to take a stand on how she’s living this year. One of her goals was to start eating healthier and possibly lose weight. By gum, she’s doing it! Congratualations to a wonderful friend who is conquering something that isn’t so easy. May the temptations be small and her willpower be strong.

It’s a mighty fine life.
