Home Sick

20 02 2009

I’ve got pink eye for the first time in my life and I don’t like it! You see, working in the food business means you do not even contemplate going to work. I’m highly contagious and around people’s food. Not a good idea!

So the medicine pictured above I had purchased before thinking I might have had pink eye in the past. At least the oncoming stages of it. Woke up, crusty eyed and put a drop in my eye. Bad idea. The box, which I read after applying drop, says not to use it when the liquids in your eye are of color; white, yellow or green. My eye is extremely itchy now.

If it keeps up, I’m headed to the doctor.

The Bucket List

15 02 2009

So I’ve been thinking that I should make a list of goals or things I’d like to acheieve in my life. My bucket list. Granted it’s starting off small simply because I’m drawing a blank, but it’ll get longer as we progress.

A Three Olive Night

12 02 2009

It was once put to me by a colleague whom I admire that when a rough day had blown her way, she’d need an extra olive in her martini that night.

Now whether or not she actually had a martini every night, I haven’t a clue. I do know, that her phrase, “It’s a three olive night!” sound much better than, “I had a rough day!”

If you look on the bright side, saying it’s a three olive night gives you something to look forward to when you get home. A refreshing, relaxing drink. One step closer to sanity when a world of chaos encompassed you at work.

Ever have a three olive night? Try it sometime. It could really help.

Patiently Waiting

27 12 2008

So we are patiently waiting for the arrival of our Verizon FIOS internet & Cable TV. Apparently it takes three weeks from the time you sign to the time they install. I just hope repairs don’t take as long.

In the meantime, I’m trying to check email, Twitter, and blog from the computer at work or from my iPhone. My iPhone seems to not fail me and is the preferred choice. I don’t want to risk wasting time at work or getting caught in the act.

Alas, I patiently wait for yet another week to receive internet at home.

Again

11 12 2008

So I’ve taken a new job in San Marcos. This means that we’ve got to move. The only problem is that I hate packing. I can’t stand having to live out of boxes until I have a spare moment to unpack it all. Life is going to be difficult for a few more weeks. Yay!

JC Golf

25 10 2008

So I got the chance to go to my first manager’s outing. We were down in Rancho Bernardo at one of the two golf courses in that area. Which was great because it gave Dominique (someone I work with) and I a chance to go visit everyone, take care of some unofficial business.

We had lunch on the Veranda. Thank you Mr. David Sheline! By that time we needed to head down the street to the other golf course where we would be playing in a tournament. Well, not me, I don’t golf so I volunteered to be the beverage cart. I was fortunate enough to use my skills to get me out of that one.

We then cam in for a fantastic dinner catered by the Rancho Bernardo Inn and went back out for another 9 holes. It was definitely dark by this time and I couldn’t drive the cart in the dark, so I joined a group, watched them play with glow in the dark balls, lit up pis, holes and pathways. Definitely the most fun golfing I’ve ever had.
